KiKi Shepard is a versatile performer who loves entertaining, whether on film, television, or the stage.
KiKi is best known as the “Queen of Fashion”. For 15 years, millions of viewers tuned in weekly to "See what she will wear", as she showed off the season's latest designs in haute-couture as the smashing co-host of the original “It’s Showtime at the Apollo”- TV’s hottest late-nite variety show
In Sept.2002, she returned for the 16th season, with a new show title…. “SHOWTIME ...starring Rudy Rush & KiKi Shepard”, and, as the host of a new amateur segment .... Showtime Teenz, which featured the USA's talented teenagers between the ages of 13 and 17.
In 2003-2004, Ms. Shepard premiered as the HOST of a new TV show ----- “LIVE IN HOLLYWOOD .” Live In Hollywood is the Classic Urban Variety show with the best in variety entertainment and celebrity appearances that can only happen in “ Hollywood !” LIH hit the airways like a rocket, and soared to great heights with the late-nite audience.
“IT’S SHOWTIME AT THE APOLLO – Seasons I-XV” is now airing on the new network, TVOne, and the televison audience is thrilled to see Ms. Shepard in that venue once again.
In November, 2005, KiKi began a new era as the Host of TVOne’s new game show, “The Bid Whist Party Throwdown”, a televised tournament featuing the card game “Bid Whist”, and showcasing some of today’s most famous stars.
Contestants contribute their winnings to a charity of their choice.
KiKi has guest-starred on the series’ “The District”, “Family Law”, and
Yes, Dear”, and had a recurring role on the ABC drama, “NYPD Blue”, as Marta. She made a 3-part guest appearance on the popular ABC soap opera, "General Hospital", as Sandy, the roadhouse owner.
KiKi is very proud of her one-woman show -- “It’s Showtime....An Evening with KiKi Shepard”, which premiered at the Black Academy of Arts and Letters, Dallas , Texas . Critics called her ------ “An Utter Delight”.
Ms. Shepard’s latest venture “Moments In Time – An Interview”, is a conversation with today’s movers and shakers from all walks of life. The inter- view, hosted by Ms. Shepard, is designed to give the audience an inside look at the moments that determined their cultural, social, and religious paths, reasons for career choices, and their ultimate personal goals. She has interviewed 2005 Tony Award winning actress Phylicia Rashad, Lynn Whitfield, & Tamara Tunie.
KiKi can be “heard” on three Nickelodeon animated series’......“Jamal, the Funny Frog,” as Polly, the tadpole, “The Semprini Triplets,” where she plays Malinda, and “That’s My Pop,” as Naomi.....the brain-iac bear.
Ms. Shepard appeared in the NBC miniseries “Lady Boss,” ... starred as the Jamaican songbird/clairvoyant, “Trelawney”, in the Hulk Hogan action series, “Thunder in Paradise ,”..., and created the role of “Beru”, for the TV series “Conan, the Barbarian.”
She starred in the 2005-06 film short “Sunday Evening Haircut”. Other film credits include HBO’s “Miss Evers’ Boys,” “The Josephine Baker Story”, “A Rage in Harlem ,” and “Cotton Club”.
KiKi’s Broadway credits include “The Wiz,” “Your Arms’ Too Short To Box With God,” “Porgy and Bess,” “Reggae,” “Bubblin’ Brown Sugar,” and “Sing, Mahalia, Sing.”
Ms. Shepard hosted Disney’s first Black Heritage Celebration at Disney World, In Orlando, Florida. The event paid tribute to the Apollo’s sixty year contribution to the entertainment world. In February, 2002, she happilyreturned to Disney’s Pleasure Island to the BET Soundstage Club for another year of tributes to that great institution......the Apollo Theater.
