Walk of Sickle Cell Disease

This portion of the program was designed as a living tribute and testimonial of both children and adults who suffer daily with this debilitating and deadly disease. As you travel along the Walk of Sickle Cell, you will see the faces of those constantly fighting this battle, read their testimonies, and learn the facts of how patients and their families are affected by, and live and die with sickle cell disease.

Mission Statement :
To raise awareness about Sickle Cell Disease – an inherited, non-contagious blood disease that can be crippling, painful, and life threatening. The CBC stresses the need to educate the public about this fatal disease, and to stimulate continued dialogue about how it is spread, its debilitating effects, ways of prevention, bone marrow transplant surgery, and the need to get tested now.
